우리 집 Home
Synopsis
As the years go by, no matter what she looks like or where she is, my mother is forever my salvation, my home.
As we adapt to the numerous changes that we inevitably have to go through over time, we need a "home," a safe-haven to fortify our minds. That place of safety where someone who will always support me, is what a mother provides for her children. As the years go by, the ‘child-parent’ relationship evolves, from a parent protecting their child, to the child now protecting their parent. This change where I am now her protector, whispers to me, ‘Mom can’t be your salvation now.’ But in the end, the reality is, my Mom is still my protector.
In ‘Home’, I tried to contain complex emotions such as fear, helplessness, regret, and gratitude that I experienced in a series of processes. You may want to turn away from these emotions. This is because being immersed in these emotions hinders dealing with various problems in reality. However, long-buried emotions are bound to be expressed in unhealthy ways.
Through ‘Home’, I hope that those who suffer similar pain will be able to face and resolve the emotions they tried to avoid and ease their loneliness when going through hard times.
